Happy August

It’s been a great month and we hope the same is true in your world. Our garden has been exploding and we’re picking fresh tomatoes, flowers, and herbs daily. It’s been a treat to have fresh-cut flowers around the house and home-grown produce on our plates.

We are also gearing up for an eventful September. Nick’s friend Matt (sup Matt!) offered him a trip out to Montana to bird hunt and fly fish. They’ll spend a week in and around the Bozeman area, wading the rivers and flushing birds from the sagebrush. Needless to say, it’ll be an amazing trip to big sky country.

Display Case for the Woodstock History Center

Nick finished and delivered the display case to the Woodstock History Center last week! They plan to use it year-round, both indoors and outside. It will house small art prints that visitors can take away with them. It was a pleasure to build this unique piece for a great group of people at the WHC.

Next time you’re in downtown Woodstock, take a stroll and check it out!

Upcoming show at BMAC

The Guild of VT Furniture Makers is gearing up to present work at the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center in October, in an exhibition called Evolving Traditions. We have been busy at the shop making and documenting the build of another Derby Table for the show.

We will have a series of Derby Tables on display showcasing the evolution of its design over time. Erin is creating a video documenting the process that will accompany the tables at the exhibition. We hope to convey the complexity and beauty behind crafting handmade furniture.

Opening Exhibition: Friday, October 22, 5–7pm

Market Updates & Fresh products

These new taper candle holders (coming soon to the online shop) were a hit at the maker’s market last weekend! Unfortunately, we have to cancel the next market we were planning to attend in September due to Nick’s Montana trip. Don’t you worry, we’re planning on attending more markets before the end of the year. Stay tuned!

ICYMI: The Braehead Story
