July 2021
Summer Fun and Lumber Runs
We are a few days behind on our July update, but for a few good reasons — we went on a family road trip to Ohio and Virginia, and we’ve been working on a passion project that we’re so excited to share with you. Keep scrolling to see what July was all about.

Braehead
a lumber story that’s six years in the making
We went down to Virginia to visit Nick’s family! While we were there we went to the rural town of Louisa to revisit one of our favorite places, The Braehead House. We first went there in 2015 and haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

New! Walnut lamp
A while back, we ordered a new lamp shade for one of our existing lamps at home. The color didn’t exactly jive the way we had hoped. When we tried to return the shade, the company said it’s cheaper for us to destroy it and get a refund than it is to ship it back.
Since we think it’s crazy to destroy a perfectly good lamp shade, Nick took it as an opportunity to turn a lamp that would work with the shade. It’s made from one beautiful piece of Walnut and sits pretty on our Derby table in the corner of our living room.
Upcoming Markets
makers market at Silo Distillery, Windsor
August 21 and September 18, 1–6pm
Coming up next! We’re setting up shop at the Makers Markets at Silo Distillery in the Windsor, VT Artisan Park. There will be food trucks, live music, and lots of other vendors to check out. Silo is next door to Simon Pearce, Harpoon Brewery, Blake Hill Preserves, the Path of Life Garden, and more. Lots to do — hope to see you there!
We’ll be bringing new bowls, rolling pins, plates, and more — including pieces made with the Virginia Walnut we picked up in July.
